Removal tools compared.

Four services that can handle people-search removal for you. We use one of them, Cloaked. The other three we haven't used, so for those we rely on each company's own pages and the one independent test we could find.

Prices and features change, so confirm on the company's site before you buy.

Independent test (2025)

University researchers had participants buy four paid removal services and tracked what each one cleared. Published in Proceedings on Privacy Enhancing Technologies, 2025.

ServiceRecords cleared, average per person
Incogni76.6%
Kanary23.4%
All four (Incogni, Optery, Kanary, Mozilla Monitor)48.2%

"Cleared" counts records each service reported as removed or no longer found, so it relies partly on the services' own dashboards. The researchers also found services flagging records that weren't about the participant. Source: He et al., PoPETs 2025. Cloaked, Aura, EasyOptOuts and DeleteMe weren't in this study.

Cloaked · we pay for this one

What it offers: data-broker removal, a free exposure scan, and a call screening feature called Call Guard. Also email and phone aliases, a VPN and password tools.

Our results: Call Guard marked 62 of the 77 calls we got in the last 30 days as spam (checked October 20, 2026), and our account reports 14,636 exposures secured. Full write-up.

Independent test: none found.

Published price: $9.99 to $24.99 a month billed yearly ($119.99 to $299.99 a year). Monthly billing costs more.

Keep in mind: Cloaked says Call Guard is still rolling out, and its pages give different numbers for how many sites it covers. Check the plan details.

Incogni and Kanary were in the 2025 study above. DeleteMe wasn't. We'll add services once we've read their terms and pricing. We'd rather list fewer options with sources than many we haven't checked.
